Released 2008-05-19:

Only change from version 1.2.3 that issue in Ticket #103 is fixed.

Of note: this version was compiled with debug information (not intentionally). This means there may be some messages that is not intended for the end-user. It should not affect the use of the program but may provide some relevant info for the developer in case of errors.

2008-05-20: We do have an issue with ticket #109 which does not seem to affect others than the person reporting it. It will be resolved one way or another and probably result in v 1.2.5 being released within a day or two.

  • FS 1.2.x has been used in Norwegian League rounds in Hjartdal (2 tasks 51 pilots) and Tromsø (Hvittingfoss) (2 tasks 31 pilots) in May 2008.
  • Has been tested and compared in most aspects with various comps that where scored with FS 1.1.x.
  • If one use GAP2007 formula in FS 1.2.x, the fsdb file is backward compatible with FS 1.1.x. If using any other formula one must manually edit the fsdb file before task can be opened with FS 1.1.x as FS 1.1.x will only understand task with GAP2007.
  • PWC2007 formula has been tested against a task from PWC in Turkey 2007 and show same points for distance and time. It has also been tested against a task from PWC in Italy 2008. Here the distance points is slightly different (steeper curve in PWC2007 formula). Seems PWC has changed the formula a little for 2008. Has also been tested in some competitions that where originally scored with GAP. Results seems reasonable.

Some new stuff:

  • GAP2000, GAP2002, OZGAP2005, GAP2007 and PWC2007 formula.
  • The possibility to create your own scoring formula DLL that FS can use ("how to" guide will come ...)
  • GAP2002 and GAP2007 now has correct max Leading points of 17.5 when no one in goal (was 25 in prev. versions).
  • Filtering of task and competition reports is changed and now the rank in the # column will be correct (in prev. versions it would in some cases not be). The default report templates for competition and task results, comp_result.cpr.xsl and task_result.tkr.xsl, has been updated and simplified somewhat.
  • FsFlight can show airspaces and check for violations
  • Improved display of task information
  • A good deal more that is not apparent to the endusers but which will help when we add new features.

One major missing feature that will be added very soon is a way to create official results for the WPRS (http://civlrankings.fai.org) that can be sent by email or uploaded directly.
