How to create an AAT competition with FS?

ex:

Start – 5 km
Sector 1 – 5 km
Sector 2 – 17 km
Sector 3 – 10 km
ESS – 1 km
Goal – 0,4 km

Time – 2 hours

Does the score takes in count total distance and speed as suposed in an AAT competiton?

FS does not have a module for scoring AAT tasks (yet).
Do you see a big need for scoring AAT in Hang/Paragliding comps?

well is another FAI possible task, to use in FAI competitions, so should be possible to score it right?

February 2, 2011 at 7:37 pm #512Oyvind EllefsenParticipantI’ve not seen AAT used in a CIVL Cat 2 comp, it’s popular in Sailplane comps. But it might be something to look into. I suggest you make a ticket with a feature request, describing how you would like to see the format implemented and with links to rules/descriptions if possible.
February 3, 2011 at 2:34 pm #513pherculanoParticipantWell, of course it has not been used in CIVL Cat 2.. there is no official way to score it.
I don’t want to create any special format… just adapt (speed and distance)from what exist in ANNEX A from Seccion 3 – Gliding (8.3 and others) to Hang gliding and Paragliding.
Also good idea to see this links: http://www.xcontest.org/xrace/about-aat/ http://ozreport.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=21610

February 4, 2011 at 8:38 am #514Oyvind EllefsenParticipantThere are as far as I know no strict requirement to use GAP in a CIVL Cat 2 comp, but without compatible scores it might be difficult to get the WPRS points 🙂
Thanks for the links and info, as you can see elsewhere in the forum we are looking for developers to pick up on the development of FS, implementing new scoring forumulas are on the list of things that needs to be done.

February 8, 2011 at 9:14 am #515pherculanoParticipantThank you for your answers but i’m not a programer… i don’t know how to help development of FS.
I know that what i need now from FS is TOTAL DISTANCE / OLC (5 points) that a pilot have fly from SS until ES… not the task distance… any idea how to have this?

February 10, 2011 at 3:39 pm #516pherculanoParticipantI’m thinking use AAT tasks with OLC distance. Only Take off and Goal sectors, for time.
For that, and looking in FAI Annex A of SC S3 (part 6, 8.3 and 8.4) i’ve adapted the formulas for paragliding and come like this:
PARAGLIDING (proposal) ==> 1000 pts = Dist > 30km and Time > 1 hour —- Tmin = 30 min and Dmin = 5 Km
DAY PARAMETERS: Pm = MIN( 1000 ; (34 x Highest Distance) – 20 ; (1200 x Elapse Time of the fastest) – 200 )
F = MIN ( 1 ; 1.25 x nº pilots achieve minimum dist. / nº pilots launched )
Pvm = (2/3) x (nº finishers exceeding 2/3 best speed / nº pilots launched) x Pm
Pdm = Pm – PvmCompetitor’s Score:
Finisher: Pv = Pvm x (Vh – (2/3) x Highest finishers speed ) / ((1/3) x Highest finishers speed)
Pv = 0 pts — IF (Finishers speed < (2/3) x Highest finishers speed)
Pv = 0 pts — IF (Finishers time < Miminum task time (Tmin))
Dist. / Speed—-Pd = Pdm
OLC—————Pd = Pdm x (Pilot distance / Highest Distance)
Pd = 0 pts — IF (Finishers distance < Minimum distance (Dmin)Non-finisher: Pv = 0
Pd = Pdm x (Pilot distance / Highest Distance)
Pd = 0 pts — IF (Finishers distance < Minimum distance (Dmin))Total: S = F x (Pv + Pd)
Note:
IF (Pilot time < Task time) —- Pilot time = Task timeIF (MIN (Finisher distance) < Pilot non-Finisher Distance —- Pilot non-Finisher distance = MIN (Finisher distance)

July 23, 2012 at 7:47 am #1378kocieckaParticipantHas there been any further development on AAT in FS? This kind of task is being used more often these days. For example the Czechs had one AAT task during this year’s national championship – they scored the comp with FS, I don’t know how they handled the AAT (can’t find this task’s results).
We use AATs quite often in our (Polish) national league weekend competitions. We use SeeYou for scoring, but it’s not very comfortable.
Is there any chance that this type of task will be included in FS?karol
July 23, 2012 at 2:11 pm #1379dzstefanParticipantHello
I did the results of the Czech Open Championship but one guy (i dont know how his name is) from the Czech Republic has made AAT formula that works in FS. If someone needs a formula for AAT let me write an email stefan@sonet.com.mkAttachments:

Disussions are at “AAT (Assigned Area Tasks) – the future for our Comp scene?”
