Yes, I agree that DF would cover the situatuon of a failed takeoff and broken glider. The pilot intended to fly the task, but failed, so min distance is OK.

I realize there may be situations where you need to restrict parts of the courseline to avoid airspace etc. But that is usually solved without using turnpoints.

Oyvind EllefsenMemberI’m about to score the Tater Hill comp with FS and because of it’s small size (compared to GV, or the Owens) we often have zig-zagging tasks that pass through old cylinders. What happens when, during the course of the task, a pilot passes through the start cylinder again. Does their time and distance reset or does the start cylinder (or even SS cylinder) get ignored after they’ve passed through the next turnpoint?
