Description

Hi Guys, Great work on the project !!

Just finished using the setup with a PG Comp in Australia of 75 Pilots for an 8 day Comp. All went really well, the transition from GpsDump & FsFlight works well. Seems to pickup the file even without a REFRESH as soon as the download is completed. Maybe this AUTO refresh method could also be used for FsComp as well....save the right click, check all tracklog thing over & over. Biggest thing to catch me out was.....when pilots Jumped the SS and it would only display the minimum distance, took me 30 mins to figure out why the tracklogs were apparently faulty. Maybe a WARNING message to display PILOT jumped the start Gate would be a nice touch in the FsFlight analysis breakdown.

I have a request for future Builds of the Program. Would it be possible to have a field for the NAC number ?? This is especially useful for incorporation into our National database as we utilise our National body number for the Ladder/Natioanl? ranking calculations. Also it would be great if the FAI Number was actually a field which could accept and display the full FAI number and not merely a Yes .. No .

The Airspace feature worked well also. Once I converted to point format, as per an earlier ticket of mine with regard to OpenAir? format and arcs & circles. Hopefully sometime in the future full OpenAir? format will be incorporated.

All in all Great Stuff !!

Keep up the brilliant work.

Cheers ;-) Matt

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the comments. Have seen the ticket for a long time and should've replied long time ago. Been some changes in FS version 1.2.13. Have a look ...

Gotta be carefull with things happening automatic. Some things should be done by consideration by the scorer. So for now ...

Sorry, lots of stuff that is implisit and not flagged. Trying to keep it simple. What is lacking is a better guideline at fs.fai.org on how to use FS.

Have kept the number of built-in fields to a minimum. Is not good to have a lot of personal information here. It is quite common to publish the fsdb on the web, and equally common to not remove any info in it before one do. So having things like email, tlf, etc there is a no no.

However it is possible to add your own fields (custom pilot attribute) to the pilot info so you are free too put whatever there.

Pls do be carefull with sensitive information if you do.

Also it would be great if the FAI Number was actually a field which could accept and display the full FAI number and not merely a Yes .. No .

The field is merly concered with if you as an organizer has checked if the pilot do have a valid FAI licence or not. This is simply to help the WPRS coordinator when registering results from Cat. 2 comps.

You can use a custom pilot attribute if you need to store this info.

At the moment only polygons are supported. Circles is just around the corner. Arc is a bit worse when it comes to checking if a point is inside, I'm no math genius so I rely on friends for that bit.
