Need some clarification here.

The draft does not appear to be finished and do not explain the formula properly.

See items 17.2, 19.1, 19.3 ...

I'm afraid the rules will not go beyond draft state any time soon. This is what I know and from various emails between Martin Scheel and Xavier Murillo, and what we use for the Swiss League, since by definition we have to use the PWC formula:

  1. What they call "GAP2007" is of course GAP2002, with leading bonus, but with Arrival Time Points. So to achieve this in FS right now we select GAP2007a, and pick "Use Time Points", "Use Leading Points" and "Use Arrival Time Points".
  1. PWCA has predefined GAP parameters, but these may be overruled by local meet directors: Distance 50km (we use 40km in Switzerland), Time 1h15m (which gets rounded to 1.3 hours in FS), Goal 20%, Minimum Distance 5km
  1. To still be able to discard tasks in an overall ranking, the rule outlined in 19.3 is applied. I have to admit I do not understand it, especially not what x, A and B would be. Right now we do a linear adjustment of tasks below 1000 winner points
  1. For overall results, the discard rule was changed during the world cup in Brazil, after this rule draft was published. There have been many postings on the forum, long emails in the PWCA committee, but I have to admit I do not understand the rule in its entirety to the point where I could specify it for a programmer. Once I do, I'll post an update here...
