Description
Trying to figure out what is the Jump The Gun factor, I found out that at the momment you can only enable a 2x time factor. I was looking at it because we had that issue on a task on our last hang gliding nationals on 2007, and I was re-scoring the whole thing to take a peak on the software (needed a lot of IGC re-editing for kml conversion). Anyway, the software works like charm. Still would like to see the posibility to have the Jump The Gun factor available so one can add more time to it as 5x or something similar. Anyway, I also wanted to know how "legal" would be that factor, or what would be the best workaround on a tournament, but probably I would post this on the forum or the Ozreport for getting some feedback.

Maybe as english is not my native language I didn´t make much sense on my statement. What I was trying to say is that the Jump The Gun factor, as on version 1.1.3. only alows for 0 and 2, meaning disabled or 2x enabled, so there´s no other possible setting. Probably if approved this would be the only available factor, but I was thinking that it could be sometimes better to apply a more drastical factor than just 2x the jumped time. I was trying to discourage jumpers by aplying something like a 5x factor...
Also, I´m not sure if this is how it´s supposed to be, but on our last meet I was the one that jumped the start gate, by 15 minutes (tough the 1st start gate was 15 minutes earlyer... and according to our local rules I got the distance but not the speed (no jump factor involved) nevertheless, I got the higher leading coeficient as I did the task quite fast, and i was all the time more than 15 minutes in front. I´m not sure if the leading coeficient should somehow change if somebody jumps the gun. It was certain that I made the goal first and leaded all the way, probably too far front for being followed. Actually I was the only one getting leading points at all. I´m attaching the database and the kml only for task 2.

It is a bug in FS 1.1.3.
Values allowed should be anything from 0 and up.
Will be fixed and a version 1.1.4 will be out soon.

Do you mean that changing the factor did not reflect changes in the scoring? I tested this earlier and the JTG worked fine then. What version did you use?
Did you see http://fs.fai.org/cgi-bin/trac.fcgi/wiki/FS%20Guide#jtg
There was a discussion about this at the CIVL meeting where we found the JTG to be very desirable (at least for hanggliding), and it will most likely be allowed for Cat 1 meets in the next version of the rules.
